Lancaster will be alive with the sound of music on Friday 3rd June as part of the mini arts festival, First Friday’s. Organised by Lancaster Arts City, First Friday returns with a full day of music, art and entertainment taking place in venues across the city.
As part of BBC Music Day June’s First Friday will be celebrating with a full programme of musical events including June afternoon in the Courtyard. Bring your picnic blankets and fold up chairs for a chilled out summer afternoon of live music in Lancaster Castle Courtyard.
Local artists including Youth Orbit and Iona Lane will be joined by headline act Luke Jackson, winner of Fatea’s ‘Male Artist of the Year 2014’ for an afternoon of warm jazz and friendly folk vibes.
Get it Loud in Libraries will also return for June’s First Friday with an intimate performance at Lancaster Library by Lady Leshurr, queen of new school rap and Internet sensation.
As well as all the musical events happening around the city Lancaster City Museum will be celebrating the life of Eric Morecambe. The special event will celebrate the Bring me Sunshine exhibit meet our ‘Eric’ (impersonator, Bob More), see Eric’s Rolls Royce and chat to Mike Fountain, Eric’s chauffeur.
