Funding Resources and Help for Artists – short-term and due to Covid-19 situation


During this current troubling period of the coronavirus lockdown, many of you will be looking for ways to express yourselves creatively within your communities during isolation, At Arts City, we will attempt to pass on as many opportunities for artists (commissions, funding opportunities, online performance/exhibitions etc) as we can.

UFI VocTech Now  6 April 5pm deadline
Grants of up to £25,000 available for teachers and trainers of vocational learning. These are small grants of between £10k and £25k to support vocational learning providers to rapidly transition to remote teaching and training and deliver accessible learning at a time of significant change. Generally how funders are helping with the health crisis England Community Emergency Fund:
Sport England’s Community Emergency Fund aims to deliver immediate funding to those most in need. It’s specifically targeted at organisations, who have a role in supporting the nation to be active but who are experiencing short term financial hardship or the ceasing of operations due to the ongoing crisis. The types of organisations eligible include local sports clubs forced to close at short notice and voluntary and community sector organisations who deliver or enable sport and physical activity, e.g. dance.
Sport England has announced a more comprehensive package of support the sector and community groups delivering sport and physical activities:

Creative Micro-Commission Programme
We are accepting proposals from artists from Hull and the North of England for a new Creative Micro-Commission Programme which offers £350 to creative practitioners from any discipline including visual arts, performance, spoken word, film and sound to produce a new work within the limits of working under current social distancing measures. The programme is designed to enable artists to respond and create new work quickly encouraging the space and freedom to try out new ideas and ways of creating work for online presentation.
