It’s not long until July’s First Friday and here’s a little bit more information for you!
First Friday, Lancaster’s mini arts festival, returns on Friday 1st July bringing art, dance and music to Lancaster city centre.
One of the highlights of July’s First Friday is an art trail that local school children are currently busy creating.
Primary schools from the Lancaster and Morecambe areas have come together to create a school art trail in Lancaster city centre. Inspired by the theme, ‘The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party’, classes from 12 schools across the district are making fabulous and fantastical artworks which will be displayed in city centre shops and cafes, from 1st July.
Venues hosting artworks include Sainsburys, Lancaster Library, Lancaster Train Stations and several shops and cafes.
Market Square will again be a hive of activity for July’s First Friday with music from More Music’s Bay Beat and performances of Piece of CAKE by Maelstrom Theatre and The Echoes of Men by Ludus Dance.
Other events happening include a family friendly stop motion animation workshop at The Dukes Theatre with local animator Ginny Koppenhol and Lindy Hop dance workshop at Ludus Dance Studio led by Jenny Reeves.
