Unfortunately First Fridays will not be continuing in 2017. The project was very popular and successful, but continued funding has been difficult to secure. We are sure you’ll be able to find lots to entertain you in the district, with so many great arts organisations and festivals and events.
The First Fridays was a monthly mini-festival which celebrated the arts in Lancaster. Working in partnership with local arts organisations, local businesses, local authority, venues and other organisations, the project has been led by LAP.
First Fridays Year Two was funded by Arts Council England, Lancaster City Council and Lancaster Business Improvement District (BID), and with support from Lancaster’s arts organisations, many of Lancaster’s businesses, museums, library and artists and volunteers.
In 2016, 16,000 people saw a First Fridays event, and a further 1,100 took part in workshops.
In that year there were 205 First Friday performances and more than 380 exhibition days.
