Make My Day!

Make My Day! a FREE festival jam-packed with creative activities will take place in the West End Gardens on Morecambe’s beautiful promenade, on Sunday 5th August from 12 noon ’til 5pm.

Grab a bundle of recycled wood and a hammer and get building, or make a printing block and help to create some giant hand printed signs. Visit our origami goldfish stall to craft your own paper prize, set your mind to constructing a mechanical fairground sculpture or design and make your own ‘Bay-Bans’ designer sunglasses at the Morecambe Bay-Bans Boutique! With crazy collaging, seaside games and sandpit fun on offer too – there’ll be lots and lots for all ages to see and do. No experience necessary! All activities will be supervised by our friendly team of artists and makers and are suitable for everyone to try.

We’d love everyone to get involved in the making activities – but if you just fancy enjoying the show, then we’ve got plenty to keep you entertained. Internationally acclaimed Betty Brawn (a.k.a. The Strong Lady) will astound the crowds with her exhilarating array of feats of strength: tearing books in half with her bare hands, twisting solid metal, snapping steel chains and shattering gender cliches as she performs the Human Carousel – carrying the weight of two gigantic men on her shoulders.

We’re proud to bring a new trot-about act from Lancaster’s brilliantly bonkers Inner State duo to the event; a rooky circus horse is on the loose – can the ringmaster teach her some new tricks before showtime? Dance your socks off at the Bingo Disco, or sit back and enjoy the dulcet tones of Elvis and his Casiotones – all brought to you by the brilliant folks at Bingo Records.

Whatever floats your boat – Make My Day! will be joyful, enjoyable and fun for all.

Bring the kids! Bring their grandparents!

Come along and help us fill the park with wonderful creations.

We’ll be there whatever the weather!
