Cinematic Nature Sanctuary 2019

On Thurs 5th December Lancaster based Artists Moving Essence are creating a Special Cinematic Nature Sanctuary for Late night shoppers and anyone interested, to come and enjoy their multi-award-winning Therapeutic Nature Art films.

These evidence-based films are installed in numerous hospital and healthcare settings such as Maternity, Dementia and Mental Health; watching them helps people recover from stress, anxiety and discomfort. Mark Cameron Minard, the film-maker, grew up in New Zealand and has found a profound sense of Peace and Connection through Cinematic witnessing of Nature. His films have just won the 2019 Patient Experience Award and were
finalists in 2019 Mental Health and Community Awards for the NHS in the North.

This will be a healing, quiet space in which to soak up the beauty and grace of this Nature Art, which has been Cinematically filmed in local areas and as far away as New Zealand. This will help you rest and recover from the busy period. We all need to look after ourselves at this time of year, especially in terms of mental health, and the work is especially suited to support this.

Some quotes from viewers:

“Really enjoyed the experience – helped me relax when going through stressful treatment.” Oncology Patient

“Peace-giving, meditative, calming, magical” – Pammy – Social worker / Therapist

This Sanctuary will be at Cornerstone, Sulyard Street, Lancaster LA1 1PX, on the edge of Dalton Square, from 5pm-9pm on Thursday 5th December. There will be staggered viewing times for 20 minutes at a time, from 5pm; and longer sessions will be available in a second room. The Cornerstone café will be open from 5pm – 7.30pm the same evening.

Whilst it is free, donations to help complete Moving Essence’s Nature as Medicine Cinematic Documentary project will be gratefully received – have a look at the ‘Nature as Medicine’ page on Facebook:
